"We had a good week here, the room was large and clean with plenty of room for us including 2 teenagers. The pool was great and much enjoyed by our 13 year old. Breakfast was enjoyable with decent coffee, and the live band on the Saturday night was ‘entertaining’ and much fun. The hotel is well located if you have a car, we were able to drive to local towns and theme parks all within an hour and also close to the ferry in desenzano. Had very little problems finding parking spaces which I was worried about. The parking at the hotel was great and secure with a key code on the gate.
The only downside was when we tried to checkout after a 7-night stay. As we needed to leave at 6am I asked at reception the night before to settle the bill and was told it’s ok to do it in the morning there’s always someone on reception. Unfortunately, in the morning the man on reception attempted to charge me an additional nearly €1,600 for the room despite my Expedia confirmation clearly showing the accommodation was prepaid. I showed the receipt, but the receptionist continued to insist the booking was made directly with the hotel and refused for around 30 minutes to allow me to pay only the legitimate outstanding charges (bar and tax). Eventually he contacted the owner, who confirmed the correct amount. The issue was resolved, but the experience caused significant stress and risked delaying our car return and airport departure."
