The COVID-19 outbreak has triggered substantial changes to how we travel. If you plan to visit Pacific Coast, the following tips will help you navigate these new challenges and rules:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking anything. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as health testing.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position your pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• To minimize handling during the screening process, place personal items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
