Staff was extremely helpful and honest. An Apple Watch was accidentally left in our room and we received a call from the hotel fifteen minutes after we left. We were close enough to return and pick it up.

It was difficult to pick an appropriate rating for our overnight stay in Willcox as one substantial problem overshadowed an otherwise acceptable experience. It is something we can laugh about now, but after nine hours of driving it wasn't so funny. The first room we were checked into smelled horribly of smoke. My call to the front desk somehow got disconnected. We took all our bags back down to the front desk. The receptionist, who had just checked us in, could not find our reservation but finally was able to book us into another room, apologizing for the smoke smell in our first room. Upon opening the door to the second room we were checked into, a man started yelling "who's there, who's there!" whereupon we apologized and quickly closed the door. Back down to the front desk, where the nice lady again could not find our reservation but finally prevailed and provided us with an upgraded room. It all went smoothly after that.
