"First of all I am not happy with hotels.com because I asked for hotel in Torrey. I didn’t realize the hotel was 18 miles away. That should have been said. Next I did not like that there wasn’t staff on sight. Key pads to get in doors didn’t work properly I didn’t realize there wasn’t an elevator and we were on 2nd floor. No directions for air conditioning or the 1 cup coffee maker. They might as well have not had tv because reception was poor and made impossible to watch. Not happy with the whole situation and can’t understand why so many people gave scores of 10"
"We loved staying here. The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were very clean, and they have a little restaurant that serves dinner and breakfast."
"Offers a unique experience. While it is not camping, it does offer some of that experience, but in a convenient, curated way. For example, you do have to build a fire in your tent to stay warm on cold nights, but the wood and starter are provided and the wood stove does work extremely well. It's like a very rustic tent hotel: gives you a strong feeling of camping, but with many of the amenities of a hotel close at hand. Hot water is available on demand, but via a pull chain, so you need to be efficient with showering. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the location is isolated and quiet. Maybe not for everyone, but anyone who wants to experience of camping, but without giving up flush toilets and hot water, it's a great alternative to a hotel."
"Clean room. Darling decorations in the room. It's an old place and the floor creaks and doors are very loud when other guests come in and leave their rooms. It worked out great for us during our visit to the area. Our bed was stiff and a bit harder than we liked, but overall it was a nice place to stay."
"We stayed two nights and it was very comfortable and spacious. For some reason our room didn’t get cleaned, other than that, it was a nice little place to stay."
"I rarely write poor reviews, but I feel this circumstance deserves to be shared. We rented the property for two nights in September. Upon entering the rental, we noticed the floor could have used a more thorough cleaning, but no big deal. As we were settling in for the evening, my husband bent down to pick a couch pillow off the floor. Under the couch he spotted a mouse on a sticky trap. Gross, but we just placed it outside. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to the smell of propane in the condo. The fireplace had kicked on explaining the smell, but I wanted to find a carbon monoxide detector to make sure I wouldn’t fall asleep and never wake up in the event the fireplace was malfunctioning. I never found a CO2 detector, but I did find the smoke detector—sitting on a shelf and most certainly not connected. In the morning my son woke up and told us his room was very stinky. We did a search and found a second decaying mouse and a dirty pair of underwear under the bed. We left after one night. I contacted the property to let them know there were some things to address in the unit. They were very kind and told me they’d refund the night we didn’t stay. That refund never came through and now the property will not return my messages. "
