Ogden Dunes Trip

The staff at the hotel were super nice & as helpful as they could be. I do not fault the avg staff member for any complaint. There is NOT an outdoor pool as advertised on Hotels.com. Only an indoor, salt water pool and a few chairs sitting outside the pool room. It’s kinda sad & not worth it because there is almost no sun that reaches that area. I called the spa two weeks in advance & was told I could schedule closer to our stay as it wouldn’t be very busy. I called the spa on Monday morning (closed on Sundays), about a half hour after the schedule said they’d be open. (We were handed a paper saying spa open limited hours, I even asked at the desk when we arrived) They were closed. The website says they were closed so i don’t know why we were told they would be open. Every single ice machine was broken. If there was a working one, we couldn’t find it. It sucks because the fridge was, as my girlfriend described it, “a wish of a fridge”. It stayed a hair cooler than the room & was TINY. Like. Even for a hotel fridge. We wound up buying a bag elsewhere. You do NOT have control over the air in the room. We were boiling & tried to at least turn the fan speed up but nothing ever changed. At least the shower was cold! I tried everything to get it warm. No chance. Ice. Cold. Which may have been for the best because the floor of the shower was stained dark brown and was peeling. The beds were fine. The room was overall clean. I regret paying >$230/night for what we got.

We booked a two bedroom unit, but the unit clearly wasn't intended for a 2 bedroom. It was obviously a sitting area or something with a bed squeezed in. There was no vent so it made it impossible to shut the door, but then it was open to the living space and a full wall of windows. In addition, they list housekeeping as an amenity, and advertise one day or long term stays, however, for our 4 night stay, this didn't get housekeeping services. Meaning we had to get towels and coffee each day from the front desk, had piles of trash from cooking and such, and a heap of dirty towels from the week. Staff was friendly, but not really provided agency or capacity to do anything to fix the experience. Even a request for a fan to try to cool the space was impossible for them to solve (although they certainly had one for the front desk to keep staff comfortable).

The bar is fabulous!

We loved it! Everyone was very kind and in a great location!
