The hotel is a stunning five-star property. The restaurant is excellent. The hotel is modern and up-to-date. The service was wonderful. The spa is terrific. I didn't want to leave.

The local town is a bustling traveller/tourist town. There are good restaurants, some excellent bars and the best places to meet people for solo travellers is in the hostels with bars. Ostello Bello has a great rooftop bar!
Bamboo Cooking class (book ahead) was a great class which included shopping at the market and cooking local food. Otherwise, the main focus really is Inle Lake - get a boat tour!
