Crossing the Nullarbor of South Australia was one of the most fascinating things we've ever done. Roughly 1700km of hot, desolate, near-nothingness, punctuated by the odd tree or dead 'roo.

We camped on the side of the road when we could, until the wind sent our tent off like a tumbleweed one evening. Although I wouldn't call it the proper "outback", it was still an amazing experience.
