French Corral is in northwestern Nevada County about nine miles northwest of Nevada City. Much of the gold production came from hydraulic mines between here and Birchville to the northeast.

This is one of our favorite swimming holes. The added bonus is this is the longest single span covered wooden bridge in the United States. I took this with my GoPro.
