Simple living arrangement during Niijima visit. The guesthouse is centrally located, close to bike rental shops cafes, supermarkets and bars / restaurants. The host is very kind and helpful when our ferry out was cancelled due to strong winds. We extended our stay by one night.
The guesthouse itself is very basic - small bedroom with thin futon beds and shared kitchen, washroom and shower. I couldn't get hot water but we mainly used the public Onsen anyway. The laundry facilities came in handy...

Our stay at Beachside Inn Shirahama was wonderful. It is such a friendly yet laid-back place with clean airy rooms and only a two-minute walk to the beach. The breakfast is tasty and the private hot baths are a fabulous bonus. Highly recommend!

Waowww.....what a view! - all rooms have sea views on the rolling waves and surfers having fun. Really beautiful from sunrise to sunset. And the Onsen is an added bonus, fantastic. I only stayed a couple of nights but super nice.
Rooms are spacious, comfy, buffet is plentiful, and the sushi bar is exquisite!
Highly recommended stop, especially with family.

From the moment of our arrival the staff were attentive and courteous. Our suite overlooked the sea and mountains and everything had been laid on for our convenience and enjoyment during our stay. The private onsen was a luxury along with the beautiful robes we were given to wear and the toiletries on display.

It is the staff and surroundings that make this hotel. The reception team could not do enough for us. The hotel has an unusual Hawaiian vibe. Be aware that the hotel is dated cosmetically but nothing that dented our enjoyment. The breakfasts were amazing and the best we had during the whole trip.
