This was a splurge reservation at the end of our ten days in Tanzania. What a treat that was-especially after struggling with Internet and other “missing” items at other properties. Everything about the Neptune property was first rate from the furnishings to the food to the convenience and the staff.
Yes, the price point was higher than we normally spend but truly if you get what you pay for, the price seems justified. At Neptune we received what we paid for and then some!
This hotel is outstanding. The food, staff, and room was marvelous. My only wish is that it had a view of the crater but the surrounding view from our room was delightful.
We had a fabulous time and loved the special attention they give to their guests. They have thought of so many details to make you comfortable, including hot water bottle under the sheets at night! Super cozy as the weather was cold. Each suite had 2 fireplaces - very spacious with a great terrace. We are surely coming back to this one!
I would say to anyone considering staying in this property think again, and move to another lodge unless you like to be harassed, kidnapped for 12 hours ( by locking the gate and not letting us go to Serenity four seasons till midnight when it was too late),
Keeping me and my friend outside without a/c, food or water in the heat of Tanzania.
Manager in Neptune Ngorongoro acted like he belongs to some criminal enterprises, thinking of nothing as racketeering, insults, threats, intimidations by sending his other gang members pretending to be police, causing my blood pressure skyrocket and nervous breakdown with crying all that time.
Finally after reaching breaking point I started to fight back, by calling Expedia, American Embassy and other lodges in Serengeti where we were on the way to FOR HELP!
This experience left a bitter taste about whole supposed to be nice vacation time across half of the world.
I have been all over many continents, and seen good and not very, but in general hotels always trying to accommodate and resolve the problem.
But this NEPTUNE NGORONGORO can't be even characterized ( the only things coming to mind is Torture chamber)
We had a great stay here. It is a bit rustic but comfy. Some of the furniture had staining and should be replaced. Food is the best part. Chef is very good. Amazing donuts and the best curry I have ever had. I do wish they had more games for kids ie checkers or cards. The staff is amazing. They work their butts off to make sure you are happy. Please tip them. You are a terrible person if you do not tip the service staff in Africa. I do not care what your country customs are. You tip in Africa.
Neptune was a paradise hidden in the middle of the forest. The facilities are well kept and looked after. The food was amazing. The service hands down was the best service we have ever experienced. The staff is happy to help and accommodate. They go above and beyond to make your stay an awesome experience! I would 100% recommend this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. Joseph, Martina, Clara were great. The cleaning crew were superb! Restaurant staff was always happy with a smile on their face. If you arrange a tour through the hotel make sure you ask for Peter as your tour guide. He has an eye of an eagle and is humble and always happy!!! Thank you Neptune staff for making our stay one of the best we have ever had.
The staff and service was excellent - every effort was made to make our stay as comfortable as ever. Nothing was too much for the staff who were friendly and welcoming.
The lodge was of the highest standard and a pleasure to stay in. We didn't want to leave after our two days.
The manager, Manish was exceptionally attentive and helpful. Food was very tasty and well prepared, which I didn't expect given that its all inclusive. It is hard to find truly great hotel and service in Tanzania, and this seems to be it.
Absolutes Luxus-Resort in toller Natur. Großer Komfort, sehr freundliches Personal, gutes Nebenprogramm, das allerdings seinen Preis hat. Mäßige oldfashioned Küche, die Europa der 1960er Jahre imitiert und dadurch gehobene Kantinenqualität anbietet.
Top class service and flexibility.
Excellent location and facilities
Top food and drinks.
Worth living there five to six days.
Taylor made excursions.
Great, great Manager and Chef.
Enjoy the people working there, they go the extra mile to please you.
We stayed here for one night during our honeymoon. The hospitality and service are the number one priorities of the general manager and staff.
From the time they greeted us as our car arrived to the moment we left, every detail was taken care of.
The rooms are large and immaculate with outstanding views from the porch, the lodge is well-decorated and the food is excellent.
But what we will remember most is the friendliness of the general manager and staff.
In die Natur eingebettete geräumige landestypische Strohdachvillen . Die umgebenden Gärten auf oldenglisch gestylt .Achtung im August in den Villen sehr kalt ,da nur über kleine kaminöfen beheizbar .
The hotel is beautiful as well as the surrondings. It is Also a good thing to be located outside the national park, avoiding double pays for the park entrance fees.
Aftera long a tiring trip from Oloitokitok Kenya to Arusha Tanzania and then to the Ngorongoro area I was received at the same parking area by hotel personel with cleansing towels and refreshments. The service from then on was superb. The hotel location is outside african turnmoil, a place where you can relax, cottages are roomy with all the comodities you need to stay at ease. It is located just a few minutes from gnorongoro entrance an is all included. Comparing hotel rates with others I stayed vs. what i got, this is the place to go.
Great location for visiting Ngorongoro crater from
We just spent two nights @ Exloreans and it as really a superb hotel, we were two adults and three children and we felt totally pampered at the end of our stay, our hosts even seemed sad to see us go. We were in suite # 20, which is in a great location, separate from other cottages/suites. Stanley, the lodge manager, is really a credit to the Exploreans brand, he runs the lodge like a smooth Swiss watch, and nothing is too much trouble for him. The F&B manager, Adigon, is also amazing - always ensuring that my three children were well catered for so far as food and drinks were concerned, even reminding me about extra milk for my baby when we went on long trips. I would recommend this hotel to anyone (and have already done so in my office). Well done Stanley et al.
This hotel was an oasis for us following an "extreme" safari in very challenging weather. It is a brand new property, set just outside the main gate to Ngorongoro Crater, thus combining the best of both worlds (easy access, but not having to pay excess fees). The service was impeccable and the two room suite cottages nicely furnished and very comfortable. All inclusive with excellent food, good wine and local beer. Can easily recommend. Resident-friendly.
beautiful setting, comfortable, spacious and beautiful cottages, very good and efficient service by the friendly staff, good food (however they could work a bit on their desserts...). I have never before experienced this level of service and luxury in Tanzania.
