"Travelling for work, I though the room and room faclilities were excellent. The pool was lovely and I had it all to myself. The breakfast was ok. It took a long time to get a tea or coffee, spoons had run out and staff seemed generally overwhelmed. Some parts of the hotel seemed run down. Some of the reception staff were good but some were rude. Some of the bar and breakfast staff were good and some didn't seem to know what they were doing. There were a lot of poeple begging in the hotel...

She negotiated prices with the vendors so that we weren’t overcharged. She also made sure we had transportation arranged to and from the airport. "Such a gem!!! We absolutely loved this property for part of our stay in Dakar. The location is good—it was an easy walk to the beach and restaurant district. We even walked down to the Renaissance monument, but that is further than “walking” distance. The property itself is lovely, quiet, with a great pool and restaurant. Staff is outstanding! Much higher quality all around than the luxury international brand hotel we stayed at downtown. "

"Maison Abaka is an oasis in a chaotic city. It has a lovely location, right on the beach, overlooking Mgor Island. It also has some very nice decks with chairs around a tiny pool and overlooking the sea. The rooms were good, with all that one needs to be happy. They are not luxurious but they are comfortable and clean with good showers and decent air con. The hotel is tucked down a dirt lane (with lots of garbage) in a residential area full of people... so it can be a bit noisy sometimes. That...

"This hotels heyday was easily 10 years ago. Things are broken. There was no warm/hot water. It was dark. The pool was not swimmable, etc. We stayed one night and then left for a different hotel. The location and access to the beach was great and the breakfast was delicious. "
