I like the proximity to many activities in the city, but the lack of any restaurant/bar is disappointing. The hotel is beautiful and would benefit from this, as getting breakfast is at a distance which I do not enjoy having to leave the hotel and walk over 4 blocks for a place that serves a full breakfast.
Most places near the hotel serve coffee and pastries only.
The other suggestion I would make is to not serve wine in plastic cups. It completely ruins the experience of having a nice glass of wine in your beautiful lobby. Get some glasses!!
I was there on a Saturday night and given a room in the back of hotel behind a few clubs on Crown St which were very loud even during my 2:30 afternoon check in due to Cinco de Mayo parties, a New Haven pub crawl and end off semester stress relief by Yale students (oh to be young again!). I figured the noise level would be even worse late at night so I went to the front desk and asked Nolishya if she could move my room to the front of the hotel facing the parking garage on George St. where it’s much more quiet. She promptly set me up with another room and when I told her I’d be back for one night next week and then for four nights for graduation weekend she set me up with rooms facing George St. Excellent customer service!

Surprisingly nice hotel. Outside of building is simple rectangular brick. But inside is Modern! Clean! Bright and comfortable! My friends who were staying at the Omni down the street were amazed and liked my hotel better. They said the Haven Hotel was fresher and newer in both the public and individual rooms. Much nicer!😊
