Reinstatement 1955-57 and 1965-69. 1979-82 thorough restoration and complete interior design (architects H. Augeneder, Bad Dürkheim and H. Römer, Kaiserslautern). Restoration of the outer circular wall 1994 to 2000, conversion from 2006 onwards. Remains of a post-Carolingian Ottonian wall (9th / 10th. Century). Partially developed ruin of the "Kestenburg", remains of the donjon, probably about 1200, high facing, four-storey Palas of the 13th century, outer ring wall. Small residuals of the neo-Gothic castle.
