Excellent bolt hole in the centre of the old town. Close to all the best tapas bars! Excellent friendly staff. A real gem.

The location was very good close to the beach and the restaurants. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. The room has a big balcony with sun beds.

Lovely renovated room where everything was clean and looked new! Huge balcony over looking the pool which was also fab and we had it to ourselves most of the time, balcony gets the sun until sunset where you can watch the sun go down, there is a steep hill and lots of steps so can be tiring walking up and down, we found the coastal path to the old town which took about 20 mins to get to, the beach was beautiful and not too busy and it’s a 5 minute walk down hill, a bit longer coming back! We had a fabulous stay - the staff at the hotel arranged a airport transfer for us as the flight was delayed until 4am and it went so so smoothly when we arrived. Check in and Check out was easy. Staff really easy to get hold of by Whatsapp during your stay. A clean, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is close by the Balcon, where everything is situated. It's within easy reach of many bars and restaurants; there's all sorts to suit all tastes. Beware following the parking signs for Hotel Puerta de la Mar. They take you to the underground car park, next to the hotel. It's handy, yes... but it costs €22.50 a day. Ask at hotel reception and they will help you!

We absolutely LOVED it here! It was perfect & the staff were wonderful! We were skeptical because of how many 5* reviews there are, but as soon as we arrived we realised why! It’s brilliant hotel with amazing staff & we can’t wait to return!

Great hotel in a perfection location with amazing staff. Loved the room with all the high tech gadgets. The mini bar where everything is a euro not the usual hotel rip-off. This would be my first choice the next time I am in Nerja👍

Fantastic location fantastic hotel fantastic staff. A sea view balcony is a must. Falling asleep to the sounds of waves lapping on the shore is heaven. You are ideally situated for the best parts of town. I would highly recommend “The Fountain Bar” for an evening out.

Check in was easy via WhatsApp and as my room was ready I was allowed to check in early. Room is compact but well laid out. Nice touch to have a beach towel. You get a good view of Nerja from the rooftop. Continental breakfast is good. One of the only places where I have used their green tea and not the teabags I bring with me! A good selection Wouldn't English TV channels. stay again.

Loved the room very spacious we stayed in 27 25th an amazing sea view. Food was lovely staff very attentive and so helpful and polite. We loved our stay so much.

I cannot fault the hotel in any way, especially the cleanliness of rooms etc. Very nice buffet breakfast which can be eaten out on the terrace, quality and choice of food was very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be returning.

The location was near the bus station & a good bakery & large supermarket. Abril is modern with pleasing decor, good quality & appealing fixtures & furniture. I liked my double room & it wasn't noisy. The owner was always helpful & pleasant I would defnitely recommend the accommodation.

Loved the hotel, its position, room, decor, locality, staff, terrace, pool. Just a couple of observations: 1. In room tea/coffee supplies not replenished. 2. Hot breakfast often wasn't. 3. TV channels (although we watch little anyway) __ a bizarre selection. Weather was great.
