This property is beautiful, quiet, and has the most amazing spa. Terrific massage. The facilities are lovely, the food is great, and the manager (Ally is his name, but I might not be spelling it correctly) is beyond belief - very attentive, thoughtful, friendly and kind. I travel through Mwanza once or twice a year, and always book a relaxing layover here for me and my groups.

We would like to inform you that due to the festive season music was prolonged till late night .. normally we do it inside the club which sound proof .. but on that day due to the guest demand we did it outdoor .Regarding the internet .. we would like to inform you that it was fire cut from city for some hours ..later on its been restored .Regarding the breakfast .. we receive huge number of appreciation for our breakfast only ... however we are reviewing it seriously .We would request you to allow us to serve you again and we assure you have refreshing stay on your next visit with minus lapses Kind RegardsGhosh

The set up of the property is amazing but not physically friendly for challenged guests as a lot of staircase up and down and limited lifts in certain areas only.Have to improve a lot on their restaurants the food is of very poor qualities for a beautiful place like that and expensive!.

Our son, who works in Mwanza, recommended that we stayed at Malaika. We were not disappointed. The staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was well equipped and was everything that we wanted. The dining options were excellent and the quality of the food was also very good indeed. If we ever go back to Mwanza, we would definitely stay at Malaika again - in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay.
We would recommend this hotel. Buzzing with local nightlife, families, business and pleasure. You can’t go wrong but don’t be fooled by the name beach - you can’t swim in the lake at that point. Great swimming pool though.

Beautiful property
Malaika Hotel was a good place to stay in Mwanza. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The staff was accommodating from getting us checked in early to assisting us with getting rides around Mwanza. The food was okay. Breakfast had a large range of buffet foods but none of them were excellent. There is someone making eggs, which was probably the best part of breakfast. I had tilapia one day. The food prices are a bit high but in line with a hotel standard. The pool area is nice and beautifully placed. I went in on a cooler day so didn't stay that long. There were children enjoying the inflatables provided. There were a lot of gnats in the water that weren't that visible until you were in the water. That also hurried my time. The room was spacious but not modern. The bathroom was huge and had a large soaking tub that we didn't use. The water was hot. There was a mini-bar that had some incorrect pricing, which scared us a bit to think that we had a Red Bull for 45,000. We were glad to learn there was an additional 0 at the end. The turndown service was a nice touch. They brought cookies and a chocolate each night and put down the mosquito nets. They should knock louder because I few times I just found them entering when I was in the room. That's quite uncomfortable. I loved that the property next door had a band and club during the weekend. There are several places to sit and relax and enjoy the views.

We got upgraded to deluxe rooms. It is very beautiful property. The property has something to offer for every age group. Fish ponds and Swimming pools were amazing. Staff was really friendly and helpful who were ready to help you anytime. I will recommend the property to everyone who is going to Mwanza. This is a lovely hotel with gorgeous landscaping on Lake Victoria. As an American who has traveled to Mwanza 10 times before, this is the only decent place to stay. It’s just 2 miles from the airport. Quiet, huge rooms, great food and a welcome respite from a day of long travel from the States.

It is a very beautiful resort in a prime location! We very much enjoyed the views of this place and the breakfast the most. The area could use some child proofing though, such as on the bridge over the pond. We also noticed some of the rails over the cliff to get to our room were broken or breaking. I only say that because it advertises as a family friendly resort. They also advertise babysitting, but be assured there are no babysitters LOL. Besides that, we were very impressed with this resort and will come back again, without the kids!

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens set right on the lake. The lakeview rooms are wonderful. The fitness centre is well equipped with treadmills and an excellent selection of free weights. I would recommend a stay here.

Beautiful hotel. Great service, friendly and after the first day they remembered my room number without my needing to say. Wonderful swimming pool and huge election of things at breakfast. I loved it here.

Malaika is a beautiful property located on the shores of Lake Victoria. I was greeted warmly on property everywhere I went. The staff go out of their way to provide a wonderful experience. The restaurant is wonderful and will accommodate special request. The rooms have beautiful views of the lake and are spacious. The windows in my room opened it was nice to let in a breeze and listen to the water lap against the shore. The WiFi is excellent and allowed me to work from the comfort of my room. Would recommend for business or leisure.

A little lake view paradise with peace and quiet and close to the airport of Mwanza. The contrast with average local living conditions is huge and feels somewhat uncomfortable. A double whiskey turned out to be less than a single, probably just an oversight ....

Malaika Beach: Outstanding
I travel around the world on business and Malaika Beach Resort is one of the best places I have ever stayed. I have been there three times and each time it has been superb. Right on the edge of Lake Victoria.Tremendous landscaping/waterfalls. Greatly recommend.

Garden paradise on the shores of Lake Victoria
Truly beautiful garden. That along with great staff, food, pool, view, rooms make this the place to stay in Mwanza. It's always a pleasure to stay at the Malaika Beach Resort. I will never stay anywhere else. I recommend the deluxe rooms with a low number, you'll have a better view.

A Beautiful Respite on the Coast of Tanzania
The people and the hotel are beautiful. The restaurant options are flavorful and delicious. The breakfast buffet provides a variety of options to start the day. The people who work there are helpful, positive, and cheerful. Malaika is my choice when I work in Mwanza.

Great if not perfect place in Mwanza
The hotel is in the most beautiful location right on Lake Victoria. It feels like an intimate place in the Caribbean. The food is super. Order the chili chicken and order it just under hot if you want it medium. The chicken Marsala and lamb rogan household with butter nan were really good too. The buffet breakfast is really special. The service at every level was great. My room, 802, was very nice and a delux room. Everything was great but it was one of the few rooms without a real view. I would guess it was because I didn’t book direct as the resort was more or less empty as it is winter and slow here now. But nothing can take away from three nights of wonderful rest and I hope to return. Ron Gainesville, FL USA
