"This motel is very professionally maintained—perfect for a quick “sleep and go” stop. If you’re looking for amenities, breakfast, or extras, you’re better off spending a bit more at a standard nearby hotel. But for what it is, this place has a unique charm."
"Unfortunately, this was one of the more disappointing stays during our 14-day trip through Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
There were a few positives. The lobby offered complimentary popcorn, donuts, tea, and coffee, which was a nice touch. The indoor playground area was also unique and something I've never seen in a hotel before. Families with children may appreciate that feature.
However, we experienced several issues during our stay. On the first night, we were woken up around 4:00 a.m. by a neighboring room. We could hear their TV throughout the night, and an alarm that sounded similar to a fire alarm kept going off for about an hour and a half. When I mentioned it to the front desk, I was told they receive complaints about that room fairly often and that I should have reported it sooner so they could knock on the guest's door. I asked if they could still address it so we could get some sleep, but to my knowledge nothing was done.
The second night, there was a strong marijuana odor in the hallway and around our room. I brought it to the attention of the front desk because my wife is pregnant and we were traveling with our young daughter. The concern did not seem to be taken seriously, and I never noticed any improvement after reporting it.
There were also maintenance issues. Whenever we used the shower, it produced a very loud screeching noise. Because of this, we couldn't comfortably shower at night while our daughter was sleeping.
Breakfast was another challenge. Not enough"
