Hotel Esplanade Zagreb

"This is my favorite hotel. I land on the way in and on the way out. There are beautiful hotels, and then there are hotels that become part of your relationship with a city. For me, the Esplanade is Zagreb. Every time I return, there is an immediate feeling of being somewhere special and familiar. The history, architecture, rooms, food, and incredible location are all exceptional, but it is the people who make this hotel what it is. The warmth and genuine Croatian hospitality never feel scripted. You feel welcomed, remembered, and cared for. I have been fortunate to stay at some of the best luxury hotels around the world, and the Esplanade continues to hold its own among them. There is an old-world elegance here that is increasingly difficult to find—grand and sophisticated, but still deeply personal. Croatia is very special to me, and returning to Zagreb always carries meaning. Having the Esplanade be part of that experience makes it even more memorable. This isn’t simply a hotel I recommend. It’s a hotel I genuinely love returning to, and one that feels inseparable from Zagreb itself. An icon, and deservedly so."

"It may not be the most modern hotel but I had a great stay at Sheraton Zagreb. Very easy to walk or get Ubers everywhere. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit run down. The hotel features the best hotel gym I’ve ever been to, this gym actually has a monthly membership (free for hotel guests) so it’s fully equipped with all kinds of machines. You can even take reformer Pilates classes. The spa is very nice too. I enjoyed the huge breakfast buffet with so many different options. The Italian restaurant Tomassino is also fab."

"This property is very closed to Zagreb Central Railway Station where there is a small shopping center. The Central Bus Station is walkable, around 17 minutes. You can also walk to Ban Josip Jelacic Square where is the Centre of the Lower Town. The hotel is in a good location."
