Muirlands West Trip

Everything was cool staff was friendly only problem was there parking. Not enough parking for guest I’m not sure why tell us there’s plenty of parking when there isn’t. Found myself driving around for a while

When checking in, the staff were very attentive and welcoming, which made a positive first impression. However, after arriving in my room, I carried out a routine check and found multiple small hairs and some stains on the bed sheets. I returned to reception to request a room change. At this point, I was assisted by a different member of staff who informed me I could not be moved and would need to wait for the room to be cleaned, despite it having already been prepared. Unfortunately, no apology was offered, and the interaction left me feeling quite uncomfortable. Shortly after, the original staff member returned, apologised sincerely, and kindly arranged an upgrade to what I was told would be a clean room. I appreciated this effort. However, upon checking the new room, I again found several long hairs in the bed, along with what appeared to be toenail clippings in the room. Due to my earlier experience, I did not feel comfortable raising the issue again and instead cleaned the area myself. Additionally, as a solo female traveller, I did not feel safe in the surrounding area. There appeared to be a significant number of people sleeping rough nearby, which may be important for other guests to be aware of when considering their stay. Overall, it is disappointing to leave this review, especially given the positive start. However, due to the cleanliness issues and my overall experience, I would not choose to stay here again or recommend the property.

We booked on a busy weekend. I’ve called and spoke to many representatives regarding checking in early, they can’t guarantee it. When we arrived it was 2:30 and check in is 3:00. They said everyone else is trying to check in early as well and it is a busy weekend due to a big event. I ended up not being able to check in until 3:10 and didn’t get up to my room close to 3:30 (after going over all the formalities etc). I ended up being late for my event that started at 5pm. This is why I did not rate it a 5 star. On top of that, I had requested the late check out as well and they informed me I needed to be a member to get the complimentary late check out. At the time of my booking weeks before, when I was inquiring about the early check in, the reps were saying just make sure you have membership, we will note your request etc so being a member was already established. When I arrived they needed to confirm because it didn’t show on their end, which held me up downstairs when I was already wanting to go up and get dressed for my event. Otherwise, nice hotel. Staff were overwhelmed with the busy weekend and it showed.

Always a solid choice in Gaslamp district. Hotel is clean and bright and ina great location!

AC was great and amenities top notch. A really great location to be near it all and also have a small reprieve. Very communicative hosts.
