The Obaasan’s at breakfast were so kind and hardworking. This was my favourite food in Japan so far! The staff at the desk were kind and helpful. "Don’t believe the one star reviews, this is an amazing, authentic experience with wonderful hosts. The property is spotless - this is a mineral spa and there will be deposits on the spa baths. The food is wonderful but they will struggle with significant dietary restrictions. We don’t eat meat and confirmed a couple of times this was OK well before we arrived. This is a Japanese resort. If you aren’t keen on an immersive experience this is not for you. The weather was terrible when we stayed and we still loved every minute. Including the wine bar! Hot tip. Arrive early for the drumming show. Both nights we stayed were standing room. "
