We continue to return to this bed-and-breakfast annually. It is an amazing relaxing calming experience to stay here in McCloud, Ca. It’s like going back in time. The bed and breakfast is gorgeous and quiet. It is in the middle of a dozen waterfalls that you can hike to and experience some amazing nature and beauty. The owner is the chef and she is amazing. She Makes an amazing breakfast and dinner and her presentation is phenomenal. We will continue to come back and visit regularly.

3 words: Charming, historical, peaceful. My family enjoyed a meandering road trip this summer, crisscrossing the state to visit caves, redwoods, state/national parks, waterfalls, and anything that Huell Howser would stop for. MCCloud was a great stop after Lassen, before we headed up to Lava Beds National Monument. Picture two adults and their preteen daughter who love architecture, history, and food. We stayed in Room 2, Switvhboard Room, which had plenty of space for us and had 2 beds. Our daughter took the queen, which was closer to the bathroom and gave her a little privacy. Cozy but spacious at the same time. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Easy and safe parking, though we were cautious about bears! We entered the building with a door code and met the wonderful innkeeper on staff, Seth. Apparently he was covering for a very popular owner but he handled it fantastically. After logistics and basics he gave us a historical tour of the building including the vault and a peek at the 2nd Bank of America branch, which are under the same roof! Wow! This place is a gem and I haven’t mentioned how quiet it is, and can we talk about the food now? Two picky eaters and a voracious dad were delighted with breakfast. Fresh berries, French toast, bacon and eggs, hot chocolate, coffee, and they offered seconds (which we didn’t eat but appreciated the hospitality). We met guests who are regulars, it’s easy to see why they keep coming back. We’ll be back to ride the rail bike!

We received a code to enter the property the day of our arrival. When we arrived we were instantly transported to the past. This B & B is in an old building that has all of the old charm with modern conveniences. There is a beautiful large deck and yard. Our room was so comfortable-the bed was amazing. Everything is clean and you get a homemade breakfast served on the patio. This place is a must if you are staying in the Shasta area.

We did not ski this time of the year. Breakfast was terrible, cold eggs and toast every morning. Our stay came with “free breakfast”. We will pay to go somewhere else for breakfast next. Dinner has been outstanding the 3 times we had dinner. We highly recommend the filet.

I booked this bed and breakfast the night before the check in date. I arrived at 930pm to find I should have received an access code via email in order to access the property and check in to my room. I did not receive an email with the access code and there was no staff on site. So, at 10pm I had to find other accommodations. I messaged the staff thru the Expedia app and left a voicemail. I’ve still not received a reply or a refund notice for the room night.

We enjoyed our stay overall and staff was helpful. However, for the overall cost of the stay, it would have been good if breakfast was made with better quality ingredients (tasted like American cheese in the omelet and eggs didn't taste rich), no fresh half and half in a bottle just lots of the little plastic containers you get in the airplanes. Felt the cost was pretty high for the value
