"This is a lovely hotel and in a prime location. I was here on a solo trip for 4 days. it took me two bus journeys to get here including airport bus from Verona airport. But it is very easy to find and is a few minutes walk from bus stops, ferry ports and cable car. The room I was in was small but clean, very basic and dated but as a solo traveller I didnt mind. No hot drink facilities in the room and very small TV with no digital channels. Not a huge problem but can see why it would for most people. The towels in the bathroom are very very thin and frayed - I thought they were pillow cases. The walls too are very thin and could hear the people in the room next to me snoring and chatting quietly. But bed very clean and comfortable. The hotel offers basic breakfast which is ok, hot eggs, bacon and sausages, cold continental and pastries, coffee machine wasn’t that great but did enjoy the English breakfast teas. The hotel also offers 10% discount at the restaurant which I have to say is stunning and was shocked it wasn’t fully booked every night. You’re basically paying for the location but the food is lovely. Would recommend the seafood spaghetti. Was surprised to see a waiter serving with a hoodie on with the hood up, but all staff are so so lovely and extremely helpful. If you’re travelling here alone you will have no worries. "

"Beautiful views. Quite a distance from the town. Hotel was clean. The hotel is from the 50s but built in the 80s and it does not seem to have had any updates since then. Breakfast was terrible with the only warm food being scrambled egg. The rooms had two bathrooms for some reason. The shower was like a jet wash so if you like that type of pressure then you are in luck. The swimming pool appeared to be abandoned/not open. Malcesine is stunning."

"Just come back from a lovely stay, beautiful views and very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was very spacious, comfy and clean. The sauna was great with a fantastic view, the hot tub unfortunately was too cold for us but they did explain they had some faults. The staff were really good at responding to any questions. They also provided a free shuttle to the town, they did only have 3 timings to choose from with the latest time being 5.30pm, unfortunately with a small limited menu we decided to eat out most of the nights which meant we did have to walk back in the later evenings or get a taxi. The walk back is very up hill with harsh paths and no lighting which was quite scary after a drink or two! There is a taxi service which the hotel gave us their number, they were quick and it cost around 25 euros. Overall we would definitely be back but would definitely consider hiring a car!"

"My husband and I stayed 12 nights in August and it was perfect. Our room was in a classic style, spacious and looked directly out onto the beautiful lake with a large window and also had a separate balcony looking at the lake and garden. The bed was also comfortable and spacious. The bathroom looked modern and new and the shower was good and strong. The buffet breakfast every morning was lovely and had a good variety of options. The grounds of the hotel are amazing - beautiful garden feel with some art structures dotted around. We spent a lot of time at the pool (basically 10am to 6pm) as it was so beautiful and relaxing. The views of the lake and the mountains surrounding Lake Garda are truly spectacular. The service at the pool where you can get drinks and food was excellent. Antonio who works at the pool bar deserves a special mention - always a friendly face and very very efficient, and made me a delicious non-alcoholic juice cocktail off-menu - his own initiative and creation. The walk into Malcesine is really beautiful once you get to the lakeside promenade. The first part is on the main road but that section is very short. In total the walk is probably 20/25 minutes to the centre of Malcesine. Checking in and out was also seamless. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will definitely be back."

"This is a 3 star property at most. Beautiful surroundings and nice beds. However, we started off on the wrong foot with the manager being fairly dismissive about us being unhappy with the room. There are to premium rooms that are amazing, those are the ones photographed and places on the website as the Deluxe option. We were given a room half the size with an AC unit beaming out hot air on a tiny balcony. Eventually, after us calmly explaining why the room wasn’t what we expected and didn’t feel safe with a crawling baby, the manager eventually gave in and moved us to the room pictured on the website. Later we found out that people who paid for superior were placed in the other deluxe with massive eterrace. Good for them, but strange why the manager was adamant we were in the right room from the start. Other staff lovely, gym room too hot but well equipped, not enough sunbeds but the lake is across the road. "
