"Extremely nice hotel for the money. We rented two rooms for a week. The rooms were clean and relatively large. The beds were very large and comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had some hotter days of high 80s to low 90s F (29-33C) and the AC worked fine. The location is right across from the train station, so it was very convenient for day trips by train or bus. Wi-Fi worked well for some remote work. It was maybe 15-20 minutes walk to the historical sights of the city center. Even though our room looked over the plaza area in front of the train station, it was very quiet at night."

"Un beau domaine, de beaux logements même très beaux avec des beaux volumes... du personnel très très bien ... gros bémol une propreté très moyenne, des moutons de poussière sous les lits, les angles des pièces sales avec des toiles d araignée et ses araignées... cheveux dans les lits ... un coin paillote superbe avec un dépaysement absolue!"

"Le Château de la Villedubois is a very special place! It is not a hotel… but really, it’s so much more. The owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful. They are custodians of a rich history and have renovated their family home with integrity and wonderful taste! You will need your car to get around. It is very private and the rooms are truly spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast offered was perfect. There are quite a few very good restaurants within a 10 mns drive on the outskirts of Rennes. My wife, our 16 months old daughter and I, had a truly great experience. It was like stepping back in time and it allowed us to breath for a couple of days. I will recommend Le Chateau de la Villedubois to any friend on a road trip to Western France or Brittany specifically."

"Visited with teen grandson in August, temp in low 30’s very hot. Room temp is set at reception so requested that it be turned down to mid/low 20’s which was done but kept resetting to a higher temp! Room was quite small and had two single beds even though I had booked two twins, queried at reception but was told that counts as a twin?? However, overall hotel was comfortable, welcoming and clean with very friendly personable staff. Would recommend despite my moans as very convenient with great transport links.."
