"This is a great hotel. I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and always enjoy the stay. The hotel is in a great location-overlooking Lake Superior with lots of parking, nice amenities, wonderful staff and walking distance to downtown Ashland (good restaurants, stores and entertainment). I love the history of the place and with the updates it’s even more comfortable. My only complaint, ever, has been with other guests. This trip there were young children chasing each other through the halls with no adult supervision until after 11 pm. The last trip was several rooms of very intoxicated and loud adults who didn’t settle down until quite late. Both of these stays were on weekends so you might find it more relaxing from Sunday to Thursday. I’ll still go back, but less often than I would like I think."

"Clean room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. What could have been better would be more bath towels, there were only 2 in the bathroom, not enough for 2 people for 2 nights. Housekeeping only restocks every 3rd day of stay so we had to ask at front desk for more. Also indoor pool was very cold for February, warmer would have been nicer. "

"A great northwoods WI cabin with location being an added bonus. Chequamegon bay is accessible from your doorstep and a short drive will take you to Ashland, Washburn or Bayfield. The cabin was clean, well stocked and beds were comfortable. Great communication with host who also provided excellent information for the area. This served as an excellent basecamp for a ice fishing trip on the bay, sleeping three guys comfortably and I look forward to a return visit with my wife to explore the are communities. Sidenote, signage on HWY 13 also makes the entrance to this location very easy to find. "
