"Montgomery Alabama: This was my first time staying at a Drury Inn. I had never heard of them. I decided to give them a try. At check in the woman at the desk was cheerful and very helpful. She also told us they had snacks and drinks from 5:30-7:00 pm. Snacks were free and she have us a card for 2 free drinks. We arrive at 5:30 for snacks... Pulled pork (very good) small buns, baked potato, baked beans, chips, salsa, cheese, hot dogs, and chili. We were pleasantly surprised. For us, it was dinner ! The next night was chicken fajitas and all the fixings, soup, hot dogs, chips and salsa. The bar actually had a great group of people socializing. I usually only see a couple people at other hotel bars.
Also they offered a free breakfast. Both days we were there they offered pancakes, waffles, yogurt, cereal, scrambled eggs sausage, biscuits. One morning the scrambled eggs had spinach and tomato. This breakfast was better than any I have had anywhere. All fresh.
The staff frequently came by to say hello and see if we needed anything. They were happy and friendly.
The rooms were clean and roomy.
I would not only highly recommend Drury Inn, I'll be checking to see if there is one wherever we travel ! 10 out of 10 for us !"
"On the whole, we were very pleased with this property, the newness, the cleanliness, the excellent breakfast choices, and the helpfulness of the staff. There were only two issues we encountered, the first of which was a $20/day fee for parking in their (open air) parking lot. One of the reasons I selected this property was because it offered free parking. That was not the case, and even the person who checked us in admitted that that information was not on the website.
The second issue we encountered was in the handicap accessible room we reserved. The room was lovely and spacious, however the door to the room was so heavy that one of us could not open it alone. I could only imagine the inability to open it at all if one of us had been in a wheelchair or using a walker. It would have been impossible. Additionally, while the bathroom was large and very clean, the bathtub was so slippery that we had to hang on to the bars when showering for fear of slipping and/or falling. We would suggest providing an optional bath mat, at least in the handicap accessible rooms to prevent this sort of mishap.
We would love to stay at this property again should plans bring us back to Montgomery. However it would be helpful if these issues were addressed for anyone coming, especially older people or those with disabilities."
"The staff was great the property was not.
First the room has an extreme moisture issue even with th a/c om it was damp and mildew smell heavy, carpet looked like it needed a deep deep cleaning. The shower was patched up and had messy caulk wallpaper was coming off walls and it was water stains on pictures. In addition, the electricity did not work on one said of the room had to use long cords to charge phone.
The stay was only tolerated because I was leaving the next morning.
The hallway had a pile of dirty towels sitting at the elevator the entire day and a half I was there… also dirty dishes were outside my door the entire time I was there.
To top it’s off the room I had paid for was NOT the room. Again I only STAYED because I was exhausted and was leaving the next day and had a lot to do !"
