"Gorgeous grounds and view. Comfortable beds. Great have a kitchen. The water in the shower was terrible! Suddenly it would be ice cold then suddenly blistering hot. We both hated that, but otherwise the apartment was perfect. The housekeeper was awesome!"

Cloud forest is impressive especially in Santa Elena National Park. Walking around misty forest for hours is so calming. Monteverde cloud forest offers amazing views of the whole area. Santa Elena town is fine, just few restaurants and nothing else.

Monteverde is busy. Titally geared up for tourists. Don’t expect there to be clouds in the national Parks; we went there to walk in the cloud forest but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky! The last hour of the journey there is on extremely bumpy gravel.
