"La collina" in the hotel name means "hill" and with this you end up with a great
view from your balcony. "B&B La Collina del Sagrantino" is a recently built 2006
family villa with a flair of ancient architecture.
The staff is composed of the owner family. The son, Stefano, and his mother greeted
us when we arrived in the evening. They are quite friendly and provided us with a
wealth of information.
For the first morning we were provided free breakfast items to get us started. They
also offered us a bottle of wine from their own vineyard. Our travelling was so
hectic that we did not have a chance to enjoy the wine and it is now back with us
in the US.
Check out was easy and flexible. Since our room was not reserved on that day they
offered us to leave our luggage there if we wanted to stay longer in the area.
We stayed at 7 different hotels during our travelling and this one is the one where
we could fully relax away from the noise of the cities.
I definitively recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area.
note: This hotel does not have AC. Stefano told us that with the cool breeze
flowing over the hill AC was not necessary and this is indeed what we experienced.
It was quite comfortable even though we were in the middle of Summer. However,
we did not stay in the room in the middle of the day when the sun is at its
highest so i can not comment on that.
