"Yes there is a bumpy 15 minute ride from the main road but the pay off is a tranquil environment to relax at Kili Villa. Our room had a lovely outlook to the gardens where local fauna and birds did their thing. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and the food was delicious. Perhaps the experience could have been improved with better communication about food and drink options when we arrived (with an explanation card). There are no other options for F&B in the area (aside from the golf club)...

"The Gold Crest Hotel was an excellent start and finish to our safari trip. The room was spacious and the staff were friendly. The welcome drink was good, as was the complimentary breakfast buffet. The property was clean and wifi was generally good. The hotel seemed to be within walking distance of the town centre, but our logistics required us to take a short Bolt ride instead (no Uber available). There was a pool at the property but I did not have a chance to use it. I must admit it seemed a bit smaller than I expected. Overall, this was a good hotel for a visit to Arusha and would recommend to others."

"A Charming Lodge with Wonderful Hospitality and a Personal Touch! I spent several days at Ilboru Safari Lodge at the beginning of my Tanzanian adventure, and it was a lovely introduction to the country. The lodge has a cozy, quaint atmosphere, with beautiful gardens and a peaceful pool area. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoons relaxing by the pool, reading, writing and enjoying a glass of wine. It was the perfect place to unwind after a long journey and ease into the rhythm of Tanzania. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to meet interesting people. Evenings spent watching the sunset, sharing conversations over dinner and chatting around the fire were some of my favourite moments. A special mention to Alex, who took the time to sit and chat with me about Tanzania, its people and my interest in exploring beyond the usual tourist experiences. He was incredibly generous with his local knowledge and helped connect me with opportunities to learn more about the local community. Those conversations and connections added a whole other dimension to my time in Arusha. Ilboru isn't about flashy luxury. Its charm lies in its character, peaceful surroundings and genuine hospitality. It was a wonderful home base for the first part of my adventure. Asante sana to Alex and the Ilboru team for making my introduction to Tanzania so memorable!"

"After a long trip from USA, this hotel our room & bathroom was spacious, bed comfortable, lots of clean filtered water in the room with a tea pot and a variety of local teas. Gorgeous windows that could be opened to lovely gardens and landscaping. Pool was clean and staff very helpful. Food was good with vegetables that they grew right there on the property. Security was always available and helpful. Location is relatively convenient to the Cultural Heritage Center and not too far from the JRO airport. It was very comfortable for our stay."
