The first room we were given had not been made up. The bed was unmade, used towels were piled on the towel rack in the bathroom, the trash cans had not been emptied, and there were ants in the bath tub. Additionally, the bathroom door knob was broken, and a used bar of soap was on the bathroom counter.
We were immediately given another room when we brought the matter to the attention of the front desk. This second room had a faulty bathroom sink faucet handle, the curtains were torn, and the mattress was smaller than the metal frame it was resting on. We ran our shins into the bed frame numerous times. There were what appeared to be mouse droppings on the sheets of the bed in this room. It was late and we were tired from traveling all day, so we decided to overlook the substandard conditions of the second room. We did, however, take pictures of the conditions found in both the first and second rooms. The person at the front desk seemed to find humor in my narrative of the condition of the first room, and gave the pictures a cursory glance.
