Location, location, location walking distance to everything you want from Amanohashidate tourist activities. Great hotel. I had a added pleasure of great sunrise view of the sun arising from Amanohashidate in early June (@4:45am).
Very clean, traditional Japanese style room with ocean view. Breakfast buffet was my favorite part. The hotel is simple, but beautiful. Hours are limited to the public bath (onsen) and restaurants. If you plan on using the public bath, there’s specific ours for men and women.
Good location, only 2 minutes walking distance to Amanohashidate Train station and bus stop.
Room is very clean.
Onsen good.
Difficult to find fruit, meals around
During our 2 week stay so far in Japan, this has been one of our favorites. It is so convenient to the train and bus stops. The staff was wonderful even giving me towels so I could use their foot bath after we had checked out but needing to kill 2 hours before it was time for our train back to Kyoto. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean hotel, great views.
Try to avoid restaurant Pur next door though (which is sometimes difficult as restaurants nearby close quite often at 5pm)
Through the big window we could look at the beautiful morning sky over the calm sea just in front of this hotel. The room is clean and cozy. We had breakfast at the terrace enjoying breeze, bird and wave songs, blue sky and sea.
It was a comfortable stay located near the station and the bottom of Amanohashidate Viewland. We drove and used the free parking available. The breakfast is average.
We recommend the hotel to install self-service laundry machines. It is the only hotel in our trip that does not have this.
Overall, we think this hotel is overrated. For those travellers who are driving there, we think there are other more value-for-money options but other further from the stations.
By the way, we recommend walking to the base of Amanohashidate Viewland from the hotel (don't need to drive)
Hotel was clean and staff attentive. Breakfast was a buffet style and was very good. Very conveniently located in front of the train station. Walk to the sand bar is close, about 10mins. Great place to sty for one or two nights.
The hotel is right opposite the Amanohashidate station. The room was great and all should try the onsen. Staff speaks limited English but they are still very helpful and polite.
The buffet breakfast is wonderful. Check out the spread of Japanese seafood items and the fish miso soup.
Do plan for your dinner as many shops are closed after 5pm.
The breakfast selection is generous and I love the grilled sardines. The outdoor onsen is a wonderful experience. The only negative is no restaurants were opened for dinner during our stay so we have to live on our choc and snacks bought in Kyoto
A bit of mix reviews here, I’m 1.8m tall so I got hit by the low ceiling wooden plank a few times due to my height. They got no room service, the nearest restaurant doesn’t offer takeaway, the hotel in house restaurant was fully booked. so options were very limited.
Room was very big and spacious, my kids love the living room.
We stayed in a Japanese/western room with our family of five for two nights. The window view of the sand bar, pines, birds, and water was stunning.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was amazing. My family was very happy. Delicious miso soup and excellent fresh tofu.
We went to the onsen (hot bath) every night. It was a great introduction to it for my kids.
My children all wanted to stay longer.
The town does close early. Make your dinner reservations early at the hotel if you want the Japanese food, or consider going into Miyazu if staying there any time other than the summer.

Acceptable but overpriced
The onsen is the highlight. The room was ordinary, lovely view but tiny toilet and bath and light switches at the opposite end of the room. No bar or lounge made it a dull resort after dinner. A swimming pool would have been great, there is space for one. No room service for the three nights we stayed - this is an eco policy apparently but for $300 a night they could come and empty the bins. There are cheaper places with far more amenities in the area.
We had a spacious, sea-view room, but no internet and no TV. We noticed internet came on the next day after we had checked out. Challenging to find dinner in Amanohashidate.
Check in is 3pm but staff told us to go back at 2pm. Made us waited an hour at the lobby for nothing. We were totally not satisfied with the services especially with the amount that we paid for the hotel. If I can, I would like to request refund.
