While some holiday rentals can feel sparse and functional, in contrast it is obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into making the cottage feel like a home. "We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We were basically needing a bed for 1 night while visiting friends in Shrewsbury. The Yak & Yeti was 5 minutes walk away. The room was spotless & had everything we needed. The bathroom could do with updating but it wasn't a problem. Staff were friendly & explained everything we needed to know."

"Lovely stay that ticked every box. The room was comfortable and very homely. Check-in was really easy and the room was ready early. We took the breakfast option and it didn't disappoint. You could just tell all the ingredients were quality and the service was too. Would definitely recommend staying and I'm sure we'll stay again in charming Shrewsbury."

"Lovely hotel, great location within easy walking distance of Ironbridge and a short drive from Bridgnorth for the Severn Valley Railway, which we especially wanted to visit. The hotel is an old building with no lift and a bit of a labyrinth via stairs and corridors to the guest rooms. Staff were helpful with heavy luggage but the building may not be suitable for those with physical infirmities, unless there are guest rooms with easier access than the one we had. Excellent food. Breakfasts were well presented and generously supplied. We dined in the restaurant on only one evening as there was a wedding party during our stay which rather took over the hotel, including most of the seating in the bar and on the terrace. On the quieter night (Sunday), we dined in and were impressed with the menu. The restaurant was busy so clearly very popular. Good parking space. Lovely grounds, well kept. Very close to the River Severn."

"Clean room comfortable bed. Tea coffee and biscuits provided and bottled water by bedside. Didn’t eat at hotel as out and didn’t book Breakfast as only staying one night. Pleasantly surprised and can see hotel has been refurbished. Would stay again if needed room in that area. More information could be provided on parking and where to access barrier before arrival That would help"
