The historical building was very neat. The restaurant and bar downstairs had great service and selection. Would stay here again.

Our room was dirty, the countertop the tv was on had old dried pizza sauce or some other type of food. One of the bedding covers had something red on it, not sure if it was lipstick, food or something else. The toilets were not cleaned well. We understood this property was downtown; however, we did not expect homeless sleeping in between the two entrance doors. Very disappointing stay.

The building is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. My family and myself mostly stay here when we visit Milwaukee, which is maybe 5 or 6 times each year. There are parking garages within 1 block, great places to eat breakfast at a walking distance, the breakfast in the hotel is great as well, the Public Market is a few blocks away...the location is perfect for us. The rooms are large...some are huge and ceilings are high. We have no complaints.

We had multiple issues with this property. First, one of our rooms wasn't a king at first, so they swapped to another room that smelled like cigarette smoke, so eventually the second room got in to a king room that didn't smell like smoke on the 3rd try. Then in that same room, there were multiple dirty towels with stains on them. Then in the second room, there was very loud club music late at night, so I called the front desk to ask about it and was met with hostility, even though I was really just asking if they knew when the music would end and not asking for anything from the property.

The property was beautiful. The staff were amazing. opened doors, helped with bags. The front desk guy Wilhelm was overly amazing! He messaged me before we had arrived and was so helpful! I would totally stay here again and again if I ever get back to Milwaukee!

Questionable at best
Let's start with the pros: - Fairly priced - Responsive and helpful front desk - Generously sized rooms with modern amenities Now the cons: - Housekeeping needs an overhaul. I had to change rooms three times due to various cleanliness issues. Room 1 had hair on top of the comforter and hair on the bathroom floor. Room 2 had hair on the bathroom floor and finger print smudges in the long length window. Room 3 (which I settled with because of a time constraint) had hair on the bathroom floor, on the toilet, on the shower door and shower walls. And to add insult to injury, when I took a shower and pulled down a towel - yup you can guess it, there was a long strand of hair that came down with it. Of note: I have black dreadlocks, so the long blond hair is impossible to be my own. Housekeeping is asleep at the wheel here. The front desk did me a solid and changed me rooms and ultimately comped me a night. However I will not stay at this hotel again.

We attended a show at the Pabst Theater and booked this in part because of its proximity to the historic 3rd ward. We could not have been more pleased. Terrific across the board. Perfect location. Walking distance to nightlife. The accomodations were fabulous...but only if you love floor to very high ceiling windows! I will stay here again and again!

We absolutely loved this hotel! Very cool historic building but with all the modern amenities. Be sure and check out all of the old framed photographs on the second floor with stories about the history of the building. There are many dining options nearby - we ended up eating at the Swingin' Door right across the street, also in an historic building. Great food, friendly service. The next day we walked one block to the Riverfront and walked all around. It was cold but we were prepared and enjoyed all the surroundings. There is a "loading zone" temporary parking on the side of the building which allowed us to check in and get our luggage up to our room - then we moved to the 250 Parking Garage just one block north of our hotel (719 N. Broadway) recommended by the hotel desk clerk (it was only $18 overnight and super easy to get to.) We did not eat in the hotel restaurant at all but noticed that it was very highly rated ("The Social House.") We look forward to staying here again next time we are in MKE!

The courteous valet carried my luggage to the check-in area but I politely told by front desk staff that the valet could not take my luggage to the room because I was not paying for valet parking as I chose to park on the street directly in front of the hotel. That seems like an inconvenient policy .
