Our room met our expectations and we loved the location. It was a relatively easy walk to Fuengirola but you do need to do quite a bit of walking if you do not have a car. The resort is huge! No pool available, taped off like a crime scene. A poor 4 star hotel, seriously in need of refurbishment, staff appear stressed, no continuation of information from one shift to another. However, this hotel is functional as a stopgap, not a holiday destination.

I like Mijas costa as it is slightly less pound a pint tourist style than some parts of the coast

It is just so easy. Not too far for a quick week away. Good buses. Great weather (November). Staying at the Gran Hotel is becoming our go to place when we feel we need a burst of sun and will be back.
