Each year in Macon, GA a festival bringing people in from surrounding area pops up for a week in early spring. The cherry blossom festival is a festival that most people have heard of, for I'm sure you have one near you. The one in Macon lasts a week an has carnival rides, strong man competitions, dog trick shows, mattress races, and many many more fun things to do all week.

On the first Saturday of the festival a unique event happens that brings tens of thousands to just sit and watch. The balloon glow. Hot air balloons come in from all around and set up in the fields outside Macon state college. During the afternoon and into the evening you are able to pay $10 and go up for a short ride that will briefly give you the experience of a hot air balloon ride. But at night, that is when things light up. With a live band on stage these balloons light up the night sky as they rise and fall through the air. With over 20 balloons it is beautiful when they all go off at the same time. People cheer, horns blow, bands play, and everyone has a great time as these balloons shows each year.
