Don't Hesitate, Book it!
Shopped all over the train station area, and I can easily recommend Campanile Metz as very good, inexpensive and literally next door to the train station. Our room faced the train station and we NEVER heard a train. You have to walk thru the train station to get to the restaurants, but Metz is a small town and this is not a big deal.

This is a competant business hotel, if you don't need luxury thrills. The historic center of Metz is about 20 minutes walking away and WORTH visiting. What a great town to enjoy French hospitality and leasure culture.

It was rather expensive and not clean. I guess you’re paying to be close to the train and walking distance to downtown. I won’t stay there again.

This hotel is not in the old, quaint, historic part of Metz, but it is 50m from the train station. Nice staff, clean, new.

Perfect located for rental car return athe train station and train travel. Close to downtown and few blocks from Pompidou museum. Great breakfast. Modern hotel.

Awesome place to stay. Rooms are a bit small but we were not entertaining and were there to sleep. Breakfast was fabulous and certainly lots to choose from.

The hotel was perfect for our stay. It was clean, comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the location could not have been better to allow us to catch our train to Paris.

Definitely recommend
Stayed here en route to Austria. Clean, plenty of paying parking around either on the street or in an underground car park and an easy 15 min walk into the centre of town. Good value and we would definitely stay here again as it is the new Campanile hotel format which is a huge improvement on the older style of hotel.

friendly welcome, fine room, good shower. There are major construction going on which will be there for at least the coming year. There is no functional air-conditioning, room temperature was very hot making sleeping very difficult. It is noisy both inside the hotel from other rooms as from outside. Not recommended for a nice stay in Metz.

An excellent modern hotel next to the train station, but no noise from trains because Metz is at the end of a train route; no "through" trains !

Good for 1 night.
Great for a 1 night stay. Clean decent size room in hotel not too far from town. Parking across the road in the train station parking at a reduced rate of €9 per night.

Hard to unload luggage no access by car
Room was great, access to Hotel with a car was terrible , nowhere to stop to unload luggage had to stop in the bus area out front and run inside and move the car quickly as buses coming and going all the time

OK if you need a place cloafter a long train ride
The construction immediately outside the hotel (and I realize it isn't their fault) does detract from the immediate impression of the hotel Check in and check out was fine. Staff is pleasant. Ate at the attached restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone.The meats were poorly prepared, and the food was overpriced and bland. Breakfast is good.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. There was no way to drive up to the entrance of the hotel as there is a major bus transfer station right in front of the hotel. There was also no direct parking, it was across the road and $28 CDN per night. It felt like a dormitory. Carpets were dirty and stained. AC did not work. Would pass on this one. We were right over the front entrance, people gathering and smoking, talking all hours of night.

Dear Jane, we regret that we did not meet your expectations. It is possible to park in front of the hotel in order to load or unload your luggage. The reception can open the barrier on request. Carpets might look dirty because of the stains but they are cleaned every day. We plan nevertheless to change them asap. We also plan works on AC. The project is ongoing. We apologize for the noise disturbance from people outside. We look forward to seeing you again for a better experience.

New hotel
New hotel right next to Metz railway station. Bed was quite comfortable. Buffet breakfast was unlimited and well stocked. Parking is available on top of the railway station (access is on the other side of the train tracks from the hotel). My intent of the stay was to visit Verdun World War I sites which was quite informative.

New modern hotel
Chose this hotel as it was right next to train station and I wanted a rental car to drive to verdun. Hotel is more than walking distance to center city. Hotel is new.beds were quite comfortable and breakfast buffet quite good.no limit on amount of food you can eat.

The air-conditioning did not work, which made our stay extremely uncomfortable. We asked the reception to switch it on. Despite she promised to switch it on, there was no cool air coming out. We complained when we checked out but the receptionist did not acknowledge our complaint and did not even care to apologise for the discomfort.

Good value for money
Nice stay. Good value for money. Great location, next to central train station, 10 min walk to bus station, good walking distance to the historical centre or by bus ( bus stop just in front of the hotel ). Good size, cleaned room ( except wax kind of stain on the carpet in my room ), clean bathroom, great breakfast ( good selection of products, option to make fresh orange juice, nice coffee ).
