We have stayed at the Colchester Boutique Hotel before. Lorraine made us very welcome and she was very helpful on giving us directions before we arrived. Our room was full of character, very clean with luxurious bath products, a good range of teas/coffee and complimentary water on arrival. There is a fabulous Indian restaurant next door called Basca but we didn't have time to visit as we were here for a gig at the Colchester Arts Centre which was only a short walk away. A great hotel which is made fantastic by its staff, all of whom are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We spent a lovely 2 nights here and Holland on Sea is Essex's best kept secret.

The hotel & grounds were amazing, it felt restful & relaxing the minute you arrived. Everywhere was fresh & clean, all the staff were nice, polite & helpful, from the reception upon arrival to the services & cleaning, saying hello as they pass you or offering help if you looked lost. Omg what a lovely place to stay. Clean, well maintained , very comfortable a really home from home. Breakfast was excellent .I would definitely stay again. So friendly nothing was to much trouble. Looking forward to going back when I can . So thank you very much to our hosts . Very impressed. 👍

A warm welcome on our arrival and was checked in quickly and escorted to our room. Staff were terrific, dinner plentiful, warm ambience and fairly busy. The room is small but fine for one night and price. The only thing was the headboard in room 2 was flaking off. This was a last-minute getaway for me and my wife. We have four young kids and two older ones, and the youngest had been poorly, so we weren’t going to go. We arrived and we was greeted by lovely lady Debbie, the room, bed & shower all fabulous. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and lovely crest fruit, all you wanted. Having stayed at several places when we visit Southend, now we have found The Hamilton we would stay anywhere else. It's a real gem
