Quick overnight in Menaggio
The hotel stay was just what we needed. A quick walk to the downtown area (via sidewalks and stairs). But watch our for the relatively steep walk back. We had plenty of room, our car parked close, and a great view from our balcony. They have a great pool area as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had to unexpectedly pay €9.50 for parking even though well away from town center. This was first thing asked for on arrival. location a little out from town on a hill. hotel a little dated. Breakfast was acceptable

The property is nice and clean. The pool was great. The staff was very friendly. There is definitely not air conditioning. The room was hot. I thought our room included the “free breakfast” listed on the hotel website. AFTER my family of 5 ate the breakfast we were informed that our booking did not include breakfast. It’s €15 per person. Definitely not worth the money. They should have informed us of the charge before we ate.

Hotel Sonega review
Hotel Sonega was well appointed and very clean. The offered breakfasts were excellent with various choices for different dietary needs.

I like the location as it is in Menaggio which is the center . Easily accessible to go to VARENNA and Bellagio . Above all, the owner of Hotel Sonenga- Roger - is very kindhearted. We arrived late and he picked us up . All the staff in the hotel are very polite and kind . Room is very clean ; sheets are so white and the room is big . Breakfast is also great 👍 Stay in this hotel when you go to Lake Como . Perfect location to enjoy . From the balcony of our room we have a partial view of the lake which is nice . You can walk to the ferry station -it is a good exercise 😀 Ruby -USA

It does not get any better than the Lake Como area. So beautiful but our room was not air conditioned like booking stated so the room was very warm. Could not sleep the first night because of that. Asked for a fan the 2nd day and that made it better but the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Breakfast in the mornings were not worth the price. The son of the owner was very friendly and helpful

This hotel did not have air conditioning, contrary to what was stated under the room amenities in the reservation. Upon discovering the lack of air conditioning on arrival, I immediately checked my self and family out of the property and stayed at a different hotel. a request is under process with Cheap Tickets for full refund of the amount of the planned stay charged to my credit card by the hotel.

The hotel is quite nice but is a strenuous walk up the hill from Menaggio. Had some difficulties initially locating the hotel and checking in but the staff was helpful and got us situated nicely.

Great family hotel
The hotel staff was warm and welcoming. The hotel itself had lots of character and was in a great location - easy walking distance to the main piazza. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very accommodating. My kids loved the pool as well. Its also just a short drive to the Lugano hiking trails.

Above expectations in everything except the pool
Good value Hotel, a 15 Minute walk form the town. The views over the lake were spectacular and the breaksfast was great. It's a shame the pool was not available in May, as advertised (this was the main reason I booked here), but everything else was above expectation

Hotel in Menaggio, lake Como
We paid quite a lot of money (just over £200 for 2 nights) for what we thought was a junior 'suite in hotel Sonenga. The photos make the hotel appear a lot plusher than it is. In fact it is very old fashioned and in need of a facelift. Our room didn't feel like a suite, it was just a large room with an extra single bed. Very bare tiled floors with horrid old pine furniture. There was a 1970s radiator on the wall with burn marks and a big unsightly water tank in the bathroom. The owner Roger was very sweet and helpful but he was probably the only good thing. With a baby and buggy it would have been good to know in advance that the walk down to the lake was all steps. Quite a challenge coming back up to the hotel with a baby and buggy. One last point, the swimming pool is across a road in a separate site to the hotel. Not far but worth mentioning. The location in Menaggio was good however but I was very disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it.

The staff is so polite and kind. The room met the needs of our 5 family members. We were happy to find a place where we did not have to rent two rooms. The roads getting to this location are not easy with a large vehicle. The walk to the water front is about a kilometer and a half. Great pool and breakfast! Great place for the price.

Arrival and departures time is a problem. You need to time your arrival and departure around thier schedule. Seasonal schedule Meals are great across the street, i have only good things to say about thier Chef and Assistant

Parfait pour découvrir le lac de Côme.
Personnel très arrangeant et très disponible. Nous avons demandé un petit frigo et il nous attendait dans la chambre à notre arrivée. Petit déjeuner excellent avec des produits de qualité. La piscine très propre n’est cependant pas accessible jusqu’à 22h30 comme il est stipulé. Quant à la climatisation, il s’agit plutôt de ventilateur qui fonctionnait parfaitement.

Vi var glade for den store terrasse udenfor vores værelse. God morgenmad og børnene var glade for poolen. Vær opmærksom på at Spisestederne i byen lukker tidligt. Og god ide at bestille bord. Det er næsten umuligt at få et bord kl 20.

Das Hotel war überbucht, das ganze wurde uns erst bei der Ankunft mitgeteilt. Alternativ Hotel wurde nach langem hin und her organisiert. Hotel Sonenga hat den Zimmerpreis ein paar Tage später trotzdem auf der CC belastet. Nun haben wir für beide Hotels bezahlt.

Oda 22 gibi diğerleri gibi ısıtıldı ve bu noktada başka herhangi bir şikayet yoktu! Otelin bulunduğu köy, rezervasyonda belirtilmiştir: Como Gölü'nün bilinen turistik beldesi Como Gölü'ne (Menaggio), Como'dan 34 km uzaklıktadır ve 45 ... 60 dakikadan fazla sürmektedir. Müşterinin Como şehirine olan uzaklığı konusunda endişeliydi ve bu nedenle her şeyden hoşlanmadığını düşünüyorum, ancak hiçbir şey yapamadık! Müşterinin rahatsızlığı için özür dilerim, Como otelleri arasında değil, Como Gölü'nün otelleri arasındayız! Ancak umarım belki bir dahaki sefere, belki yaz aylarında daha iyi tatmin edebiliriz!

Pas de clim et environs peu calme, belle piscine
L hotel est situé sur les hauteurs de la ville et sans restaurant ce qui implique de redescendre en bas...10 15 minutes de marches ou voiture mais parking compliqué à Menaggio. Prévoir également de réserver le parking de l'hôtel car les parkings publics sont éloignés. Notre chambre était trop en bas de l'immeuble pour avoir la vue sur le lac. Les chambres n'ont pas la clim ce qui implique de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes la nuit mais l'environnement est bruyant dès le matin assez tôt (poubelles, livraisons, jardinage chez les voisins ). Les chambres mériteraient un rajeunissement. En revanche, belle et grande piscine au calme. Le personnel est très agréable et charmant. Le petit déjeuner est très correct.

Ayant eu des incidents de voiture, le patron de l'hôtel nous a aidés généreusement afin d'obtenir le mécanicien qui a cherché et trouvé dans le nord de l'Italie (Bologne, Côme, Dongo ) le pneumatique de remplacement. En revanche, on ne peut employer l'expression : proche de la plage
