We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Grants Pass.... it is one of the lower quality ones we have stayed in.
First, it is one of the higher priced hotels in the area... Holiday Inn needs to get themselves out of Covid mode... you can't charge more than every other hotel in the area and not offer daily maid service. You have to request service each day before 10, and usually if you do they tend to make a big deal and want a list of exactly what you want cleaned... how about the room?! The hotel is showing that no one is entering rooms as often, ie: the first room we checked in to smelled of cigarette smoke really bad. This is a good reason to have the rooms serviced daily, so your staff can make sure the room is being taken care of.
A couple different mornings when we went out to the lobby the coffee table was covered in trash, there was no coffee, and it was right in the middle of the lobby for all guests to see, not a great impression.
The rooms are becoming dated, lots of peeling paint, cracks in walls, dents in walls that have not been repaired.
The shower wand in our room would not stay up on the holder, so you had to hand hold the wand during your shower.... and the view out the first floor window was of a cement wall.... definitely seemed like a 2 star hotel, there were no perks or niceties.
The one positive is most the staff was friendly!
I would not stay here again, even for the reward points, it was overpriced for the quality of the room and the service.
