Best Western Plus Raton Hotel

"We felt like our stay in the Best Western Plus Hotel in Raton, NM was fine and overall, a good value: Pros: Our room was clean and spacious; the service was great – friendly and helpful. The location was fine, far enough from the interstate so you don’t hear a lot of traffic noise but close enough to be convenient if you are just passing through. There is a decent bar/restaurant on site which is nice after a long day of driving. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Cons: There is an indoor pool, but no hot tub which was disappointing. The complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash were tiny – not really enough for more than one person. There was some noise from the parking lot but fortunately it did not last late into the night. Other: The rooms have an entry door inside the building but also a motel style door leading outside to the parking lot, which is unusual but might come in handy in case of an emergency, although some people might not like that for safety reasons. The layout was also unusual, with the rooms surrounding a very large atrium which includes the indoor pool. I assume they may host events here, otherwise that is a big waste of space. It could get noisy, but no one was using the pool or congregating in the atrium while we were there."

"Solid good. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are mostly clean but do show some wear and tear. I was comfortable. The scenery is wonderful and the townies are friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The only improvement suggestions would be about the plumbing fixtures that need to be tightened up a bit. The carpets show their age (but not a big deal). Like I said: "Solid good.""

"This is a nice budget motel. The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. It was very convenient to park right in front of the room."

"This was a really unique experience for us. It is an older historic bed and breakfast that we loved. We drove into the pasture to get to it and passed antelope and prarie dogs along the way. It was raining, so we didn't get to enjoy the sunset on the mountains behind. We sat by the fire in the main room and played a few games before retiring. The breakfast the next morning was served by the chef there and she was amazing, it certainly was a full breakfast and delicious! No tv's, but good wifi."
