"A delightful hotel which was a former hospital. Well fitted out with accommodation and lovely lounge and verandah and lawn as community spaces. Beautiful decor with interesting pictures and brick a brack. Hosts were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. A short walk to the Main Street for cafes and shops. Centrally located just off the A1. Also parking on site."

They made sure all our needs were met but allowing us the privacy to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Te Karaka lodge surroundings. Our meals, prepared by the master chef, Franz were as good as we have experienced in any restaurant . Only the finest ingredients selected by him. Presented beautifully with attention to detail and creating wonderfully unique taste combinations. We cannot recommend Te Karaka Lodge highly enough for that special get away in the country.
