I visited summer during Bayreuth Festival, but the location and region are more catered for winter sports. Area is a bit quiet and there isn't much eating out or shopping around (except 2-3 restaurants and a single supermarket a town nearby), and 30-35 minutes from Bayreuth (and much cheaper to stay here than in Bayreuth during August when the Wagner events are going on).
Services are good and staff is friendly. Otherwise what is available is fairly basic -- workable wifi internet but no air...

Hotel Reiterhof is first choice for hiking, walking or cycling. if you prefer more leisurely pursuits, the spa facilities are wonderful, as is the food and service.

Der Gasthof ist sehr zu empfehlen. Schöne, neue Zimmer und ein super leckeres und reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Die Gastfreundschaft ist ein weiteres Plus.

The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! It’s immaculate!
Always a lovely welcome on reception & in the breakfast area, the staff are a credit to the business

Nice hotel and staff. Good location in small town with nice walks from hotel. We decided to eat out in the local town on our first night and at the hotel on our second night. When we arrive back on the second evening we were confronted with a notice saying that the restaurant was closed.

I had a spotlessly clean bright spacious airy room (with bathroom) overlooking fields, woods and hills. The room rate which includes all the breakfast you can eat seemed to me very reasonable.

Very nice for a self catering stay. About 10 minute walk to town centre. Grocery store and a bakery just opposite of property. Has EV charging points. Quick and easy drive to Festspielhaus.

Very smooth check in with friendly host, comfy bed, nice hot shower, convenient parking for those that dare the steep hill to get to it. Property is a bit old but didn't affect the stay. Didn't stay for breakfast
