Nice little hotel. Stayed in ground floor room and nice rustic ambience. I like firm beds so I slept like a baby. Unfortunately the room was worn with things like shower handle, blinds and light fittings being broken.

Overall a great stay in a great little charming village. The hotel has an abundance of character but does need updating. We stayed in a suite and the living room was quite dark. Castle views amazing. The property is lovely with outdoor areas to also enjoy the castle view. Staff very attentive. The rooms could use a mini fridge—this would make big difference especially for longer stays. We felt two nights was adequate to view the castle, tour the town, and then add another experience like the train and steam to Taxinge Slott. No AC in the rooms despite it saying it does. It’s a property wide air cooling system that is mediocre at best. We opened the windows and even being right above the restaurant our fan drowned out most noise. Overall, I recommend!

The Hotel, the rooms and surrounding is so fine. But the food in the restaurant at dinner in the evening was very bad. A nice stay anyway.

Lovely place to stay while in Mariefred

Lovely atmosphere and great common areas. Room was also nice, however bad smell in the bathroom and a little dusty around the bed and lots of cobweb on the windows (when opening window spiders came in). Great staff. Restaurant waitress spoke only English and didn't know the meny but asked collueges. Breakfast - the homemade bread was a disappointment but the pancakes were amazing. Overall a lovely stay and would definately visit again!

Lovely stay in a room with a beautiful castle view. We loved the common areas and lively bar and restaurant. The entire staff were so kind and helpful and the restaurant food was delicious in a charming ambiance with impeccable service. Great breakfast spread, only complaint is they didn’t replenish so if you arrived at 10am like we did the selection was diminished.

Very nice to stay at Gripsholm! Kristinasviten is spacious and lovely decorared. The fittings and tech are very dated though. A touch up of bathrooms, TV etc is in place.

This hotel has a very nice atmosphere. It feels comfortable and it was lovely to see the common areas full of families and groups sitting together and enjoying some drinks and snacks and just being social. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and well appointed. The restaurant/pub provided decent food but was overpriced...simple burger and meatballs dinners with a drink ringing in at 600 SEK. The breakfast was very good quality. A beautiful hotel with good staff and perfectly situated to enjoy the town. We will stay here again.

The temperature in the room was 14 degree celsius, when we arrived. With all heaters on we managed to get the temerature up to 18 - which is way too cold for our liking.
