"It’s such a nice quiet place on a nice property. Manatees came right up to the dock and played with us! The pool is well maintained and the rooms may be older ( keysie) but very clean. Many places outside to sit and relax and it has a boat launch and docks also. "

"The room was horrible looks like it was falling apart, the roof had so much damage all over. The bathroom was so small that you can’t even get through to the toilet, you must be 95 pounds or so to be able to pass through. The furniture run down and terrible. There was so much noise coming from upstairs I believe a cafe. A room shouldn’t be under it. We barely got any sleep due to the noise that was non stop. The pictures on the site are not what you get. "

"resort staff didn't explain amenities upon checking in. wasn't aware of daily activities without passing by one area that had free water. the lagoon and pool were great. would recommend the pool be open later. Donny was a great staff member to receive suggestions from. "

"I would have given Coconut Cay a 5 star review again this year, but we had a terrible check in experience! We booked a King Island Room online in October 2025 for our stay this March 2026. We paid with credit card in full and since it was our second year booking we were expecting a very bright nice room with a view, just as shown in the photos on Expedia!! Instead, when we arrived, we were told that our room would be in the front of the hotel, right next to the office. A very dark room with no window!! The staff person said that was our only choice unless we paid another $700 to upgrade!! We were shocked and complained, but to no avail. Finally my sister and her husband spoke to the staff on our behalf and the manager was phoned and agreed to give us the room we had paid for IF we paid another $364!! We did pay the crazy upcharge fee and enjoyed our stay, but we paid more than my sister did and she had a suite with kitchen area! BEWARE WHEN YOU BOOK THIS HOTEL ON EXPEDIA!! We love Marathon Key, but not sure we will stay at Coconut Cay and get robbed again."
