Manchester-by-the-Sea Trip

When we arrived we were told that there would be a delay in getting into our room. Given that the Tall Ships kicked off this weekend in Boston we understood. However it took over two hours for a room to be ready. We were told that we would get a text message and we approached the front desk after 2 hours to see when we would get our room. During our wait we went into MJ O’Conner. Avoid it all all costs. It was very quiet in terms of number of people: surprising there were empty tables. We figured out why; the service was deplorable it took over 15 minutes for the waiter to come take our order and he never checked back to see if we were all set or if we wanted more drinks or if our food was satisfactory. A very disappointing experience given the cost of the stay.

I have stayed at this hotel previously and am pleased with improvements made by Eurostar. The lobby is nicer with the breakfast room moved behind the reception desk instead of in middle of lobby. There is plenty of seating now, and the staff was great, friendly and helpful. Matt in particularly gave us some great recommendations. The rooms are fine with comfortable bedding and newer TVs, could use a few more bathroom amenities, hot water very slow in getting up to 7th floor. But I was glad to see that they had finally placed coffeemakers in the rooms with a variety of pods. The location is wonderful, so much within walking distance; I will definitely stay there again.
