Top Makronisos Hotel Reviews

Varaba Country House

Varaba Country House

10/10 Excellent
"I was looking for a place near the airport for an overnight stay at the end of my trip, so I booked a room based on the amazing reviews. The place is located in the country side of Athen’s suburb within 15 minutes to the airport. Due to the local road system, it took a little detour from the Google Map driving direction. However, the owner already let me know in advance and provided the detailed instructions before my arrival. BTW, the owner is very responsive. It is a lovely house used to be the owner’s private residence. You can easily see the personal touch with tasteful decorations. The room is very clean and shower is super nice. I enjoyed the open courtyard and the cozy dining area. If you are a pet lover, you can also interact with 2 lovely cats in the premises. The owner served us a traditional Greek home-made meal with wine and deserts for dinner. It was really delicious - I feel like I was having an intimate dinner at a restaurant. Unfortunately I had to skip my breakfast for an early departure, but the owner offered to provide tea/coffee at 3:30 am. She also helped me arrange the taxi ride to the airport the night before. Overall, it was a great experience. I am really impressed with their services, and I definitely recommend this place."
