"My stay at the Oceanview Hotel was great, but what truly sets it apart is the owner, Edgar, and his wonderful family. They are incredibly hospitable and friendly. We struck up a conversation over lunch at the hotel restaurant —where the food was excellent—and ended up talking about sports. When Edgar learned that I play pickleball at home, he invited me to join his family that evening for a game.

"Exactly as pictured, large comfortable king bed, spacious bathroom, mini fridge, microwave and a few bowls and cups. The air condition and de-humidifier worked very well so the room was always comfortable. We were in #6 near the street. Check in was easy and they provided contacts for a taxi service from the ferry. Right across from the beach at Half Moon Bay. You can hear a bit of street noise and the odd rooster, but it’s really not bad at all. "

"This was a great place to stay right on the beach in the middle of West Bay. Had a good pool and a beautiful beachfront with a lot of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast buffet was solid and the beach bar/restaurant was pretty good. I’d say the cocktails need a little help. This isn’t a luxury resort, but it’s a great place to stay for the value for sure. My room was set back a little, but was just a two minute walk to be on the beach. I’d stay here again."

What I really like - across a low traffic road from the beach. it is far enough away from the action to be quite but close enough for quick walk. has a restaurant on site (never ate there) I always do breakfast at Yahongreh a must.
