The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't shut down our zeal for exploring. Here are some tips on how to deal with travel's new challenges:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as taking a COVID-19 test.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA officer.
• To decrease the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Remove items from your pockets, like your wallet, phone and small change, and place them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
