River-Rafting Seniors
We knew this was not a full-service hotel, as we also knew Lytton was a 'no-frills' area, however, even the wifi was good, quick & efficient & all rooms were occupied. But, the reason for staying here was the white-water rafting we were doing at Kumsheen Rafting Resort the next day and if they stayed there, there were no ensuite bathrooms! We'll go again and we'll definitely stay at Totem Motel again. I would give it, & its location a definite 4.5out of 5. We enjoyed a glass or 2 of wine each evening on the back lawns, with friends staying here as well.
Good location, walk to everything, apparently best place to stay in Lytton

Clean basic old school motel
We have stayed at the Totem many times over the years and it has never changed. It's clean, basic, safe and in a great location in town. Not fancy and Internet on wifi was unusable. Paid 75 a night and that's a fair price.
Spent the day hiking across the river from town, stayed overnight in Lytton at the Totem Hotel. The hotel is a very short walk to everything in town and a few blocks from the trail we took across the Fraser.
We, three adults and two young kids, stayed at their family suite, two rooms with a kitchen, for one night. It was a pleasant stay. Although the hotel was old, it had its unique history and lovely cottage style. We especially liked the dinning nook in the kitchen looking out the lawn area along the Fraser River. We may go back there for a two to three-day get-away trip.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night, before beginning a rafting trip the next day. We arrived late (11 pm, but we had called ahead) and were able to check in with no problems (late arrivals can be annoying for small town/business owner/operators, as they need to sleep too!) Room was a quaint little cabin with kitchenette. Old but surprisingly clean and well maintained! Desk staff was very nice (even at the late hour).
Everything was clean and in good working condition. A few problems....it had a kitchenette so we bought some ice cream but they only had 1 spoon so my husband used a fork. I thought I had forgot the room key inside the room so I went to the front desk and he didn't have a second key. There is no where to get a key cut accept an hour away. I ended up finding the key but what a stress when we had a day planned.
There are very few lodging options in Lytton, and this might be the lesser of two or three uninspiring options. It is very basic but reasonably clean. Sleep and bolt kind of place. For almost $100 there should be some kind of breakfast, but it won't happen when there is no competition to speak of.
There isn't much choice for accommodations in Lytton. For the price and the location the motel was very nice. The room was clean which was my main concern. The shower didn't work very well.
