Excellent hotel all-around. Staff very courteous. Hotel clean, quiet, excellent breakfast, easy on-site (and free) parking. It's a good 10 minute walk to the heart of the city, and it's all uphill on the way back to the hotel. Recommended.

Watch out for the bar
While the hotel staff were friendly and the location excellent and room clean and good - the behaviour of the bar staff spoiled what would otherwise been a great stay. Specifically, the bar staff cheated on the bill - increasing prices above what was on the menu - and providing drinks that were cheaper and different to what we ordered thinking we wouldn't notice. When this was brought to their attention, the reaction was one where the manager admitted that they were cheating, showing no remorse or even apologizing - it leads me to believe that this was no accident or isolated case. This is very disappointing as this is the first time we encounter such activity in a hotel of the quality that Citadel Inn is in Ukraine. The bill was ultimately cancelled but its not about the money - its about the service quality and the disgusting feeling you get.

Enjoyed the Historic Hotel
We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. The staff members were friendly and professional. The breakfast was good, and the room was extremely quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Even though you are in what was once a fortress, the wifi works good. The only thing you should note is that you do have to walk up and down a hill anytime you want to go into the center of the city, but they do have a path you can take that is helpful.

I always enjoy this hotel
The ambience is great, it is a former prison :) now a top hotel close to the city centre. The staff is friendly but as often the case in Ukraine, various degrees of English proficiency. I especially appreciate the ability to late arrivals and still have my clothes ironed, washed or both - a must when travelling for business.

Superb building, lovely, big rooms and very nice and helpful staff. Great attention to detail too, e.g. leaving delicious sweets in the room on arrival and complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water each day.

Nicest Hotel I have ever stayed in. Extremely professional and helpful staff. There is no question a premiere 5 star hotel. Tucked away from the busy streets but a quick 5 min walk to the city streets.

The hotel is great and it should be visited at least once. Although the exceptional quality, beyond what a travelers could excpect there is no A/c in rooms! Because the hotel is locat d in forest. However they have provided a fan and during this time of the year, no one needs A/c. They have upgrade our room and provide wine for free. Highly recommend.

Very original and unique place
Great place located in a real citadel. Impressive how they were able to integrate all the facilities in this round fortress. The restaurant has an excellent cook and the service is very friendly.

The hotel is a renovated fortress. The front desk was very polite, but I am not sure if it is the hotel policy or the lack of experience of the staff, but I was told that they would collect the cost of the stay in local currency. The staff did not give me the option of paying in the local currency. They just charged my credit card. Unfortunately, I do not like to use my credit card in Ukraine and I also expect that I will be charged a foreign exchange surcharge. Also, they did not give return my passport which I did not realize until I woke up the next morning. The room was simple. There was only a shower and not a bath which I would expect in a 5 star hotel. The temperature was too warm for me and there is no way to adjust the temperature of the room. The staff was very helpful and most seem to speak English. They serve food in the bar 24 hours daily. The bottom floor they were using hookahs which I find disgusting. The restaurant which served the breakfast was good and dinner at the restaurant was good. They provided a complimentary 1/2 bottle of wine with dinner. It is a downhill trek to the central city. The return trip requires a steep climb. Overall, the hotel was twice as expensive and half as nice as other 5 star hotels in Ukraine.

Excellent Hotel - but do your research first
This really is a very fine hotel. The rooms, public space, outside bar and restaurant are first rate. The developers have done an excellent job converting this ex-military space into a very fine hotel. Things that would have been useful to know before hand: you need to book the sauna, and you are allocated one hour for each night of your stay. However, you must research the history of the building and decide if your are happy to stay in it. I was only alerted this need by seeing a picture of the building in a historical photograph in another museum in Lviv.

Great hotel staff from front desk to house keeping The only draw back is the area around the hotel. (Not the hotel facilities or grounds) The neighboring buildings were run down. It's important to note we never felt in danger

設備、サービス、食事などすべてにおいて完璧でした。滞在中クリーニングスタッフが常にきびきび働いている姿が印象的でした。フロントも様々なリクエストに対しても常に笑顔で対応してくれて気持ち良かった。朝６時発の列車に乗るため早朝のチェックアウトを頼むと、ランチパックを用意してくれて、タクシーの手配もしてくれた。ぜひまた滞在したいと思いました。
