"The apartment is large (3 bedrooms), the A/C works very well, but only if the key card is inserted, so if one person leaves the others have no A/C, which is why we insisted on another card (we got it the next day). The shower has no door so the floor was always flooded. The second bathroom has a jacuzzi tub for 2, which we never used. A larger shower would be more useful instead. "We loved our stay at the Blue Elephant. The property itself is lovely, with a lovely pool that has a gorgeous view, the rooms are spacious with everything you need. We had a shared plunge pool and loved it. We never saw our neighbours who we shared it with. The staff were also fantastic, with a special shout out Kostas and Emiliano at the pool restaurant and bar area. Penny at reception was also very helpful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and lovely. There were only a few things on the very small con list and that is while the breakfast buffet was lovely, it was exactly the same everyday, no variarion at all and the milk area was kept out in a fairly warmish area - if they'd put the milk in ice that would be great! But honestly, those were small things. The town of Almyrida is lovely, with everything in walking distance. Lots of great restaurants with friendly and lovely employees. Just note that if you have a mobility impairment there is a fairly steep hill from the main drag to the hotel. It would not be an easy walk to get up. We will definitely be back, it's one of the loveliest hotels we've stayed at."

"We were two families with 3 kids ages, (2) ages 7 and 9. We loved the pool, access to the ocean, the kids club and nightly entertainment. There was also a mini mart on site in case tou need souvenirs or forgot to bring a swimsuit. We also used the spa for a body scrub, massage and my little one got a chocolate massage which she loved. The spa was great. We upgraded to the higher drinks option, we got bottled water, bottled wine, extra toiletries and robes with slippers. The desserts were great, there was wine and beer on tap. The crepes were great. I personally didn’t like the food on the buffet, it looked great but compared to what Greek food taste like everywhere this was a disappointment. There was also a restaurant close by walking distance less than 2 minutes with another beach in case you wanted something different. Overall a good stay. "

Stunning Views

"Perfect location with stunning views across Almyrida, we watched the sunset each evening from our balcony. Beaches & restaurants were just a few minutes walk away. Restaurants offered a delicious array of dishes, lots of fish and Cretan style salads. Lovely sandy beaches and shallow sea, perfect for a dip to cool off. We took a taxi to Chania Old Town one day which we would definitely recommend, you can also take the bus there from Almyrida. Just as feedback, the room could do with a full length mirror but everything else was perfect for our stay. We had a perfect, relaxing week and will definitely be back! "

"Areti Suites is conveniently located near the Chania airport on Crete, and it was a delight. The room was clean and very comfortable, located on the ground floor right by the pool, which I used as soon as I awoke the next morning. And breakfast was ample and nutritious, with the option of sitting outside. Lovely experience all around. "

"The hotel is perfect for a beachy, chilled holiday if that’s what you enjoy. The small town has some shops etc which is good and Chania is only a 30 minute drive away along with Souda which are beautiful towns. Especially the Chania markets! A must go to if you love a bargain! The hotel could be somewhat more clear on what is included etc. The hotel is amazing so don’t let that put you off but we were told the tourist charge was €10 euro per room, per night, which is correct but we were also charged extra and we’re unsure really what that was for. Also we have been twice to this hotel, the first time when booking we had the option available to go all inclusive plus but the second time that option wasn’t available until we arrived at the hotel and it was quite steep compared to the first time we visited the hotel and with not much difference to the basic all inclusive package. After all a gin and tonic is a gin and tonic be that from the local gin or branded big name gin. Overall though, lovely place to stay and the staff are amazing! So helpful and super polite! Will absolutely be back again! "
