"Absolutely love love love this hotel. This was our second time staying here and will definitely be staying here every time we visit Ireland. The staff, food, drinks, and rooms are all fantastic. I can’t praise this place enough. Rooms are a perfect size, the property is beautiful, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are clean and also a great size. Zero complaints
This is the place to go!"
"The only good thing I can say about The Dean is that their decor is nice. However the room despite being called “the cosy” is the smallest uncomfortable room I’ve ever seen. There’s hardly any room at all for your luggage, you’ll be tripping over everything just to go from one end to another. The parking is horrible. It may be a 2 min drive but it’s a 10 min walk, if you’re unable to park close then good luck with your luggage the walk has a decently steep hill to walk up from the parking garage to the hotel. The restaurant is unbearably hot and extremely overpriced.
You can hear everything in the halls from your room so a good nights sleep is unlikely.
Our bathroom though looked cute at first glance, was janky, the button to flush the toilet wasn’t secure and fell off every time you used it, tiles on the wall were busted, soap dispenser was wearing away and looked gross, the towel heater was broken and looked dangerous. Save yourself and literally stay anywhere else."
"We arrived before the check in time and no one was there. The bar that supposed to assist with the checking in was closed for the season. Our stay was supposed to be at the end of April. A note to call phone numbers was left behind. We couldn’t call as we didn’t have access to international line. The entrance to the property was dark and had a bad smell. The rooms were located up a staircase covered with old carpet. The room had the keys on the doors while no one was around. We didn’t go inside the rooms so I can’t comment on their condition.
We wondered around town looking for another place to stay. There were plenty of places available even less expensive and much better than this place. We went back to the property around 3:30pm and still no one was there . So we decided to leave and moved to a luxurious B&B less expensive than this place. We used their phone to call The Arch guesthouse to let them know what happened and the reason for our departure. The man answering the phone kept insisting that the place is in good condition and that someone was there at the start of the checking time, at 3pm. We were charged for the 2 nights that we had booked for."
"The hotel was incredibly charming! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. My partner and I both said we’ll return for a longer stay next time!"
"The discount at check in wasn’t explained we couldn’t use it for breakfast. And the room temp was over 25 c the entire time. And I killed two bugs in the room "
"Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wildes Restaurant was very enjoyable for breakfast and dinner. Just a couple of criticism, the breakfast order of eggs benedict was served on toasted sour dough which was very difficult to cut through and chew and spoiled the enjoyment of it. I believe that traditional English muffins are a better choice to serve eggs benedict on. Although the rack of lamb was beautifully cooked it still required a steak knife to cut it , but this was not provided.
Disappointed with our lunch in the bar area. Beef fat chips were horrible, the fish batter and fish was overcooked.
Found the very noisy pipe hammer in our bedroom every morning between 5 a.m and 6 a.m. to be very alarming and annoying.
The bar dining area furniture was looking tired and not very clean."
"Exceeded all expectations! So many little details met! Room was very comfortable with great mattress and bedding! Water provided at no additional charge. Car parking free. Food was EXCELLENT!!! Breakfast was gourmet and included in our booking! We also had dinner on the Blackthorn which again was fabulous and the aged prime rib, potatoes with home garlic aoli was 5 star worthy!! Way to go staff of The Twelve!"
